About Evidence in Action

Policymakers, program leaders, and others working for the public good need to understand and use research evidence to fulfill their missions. Mathematica Policy Research’s Center for Improving Research Evidence (CIRE) has launched the Evidence in Action blog to help make that happen.

Evidence in Action is a forum designed to foster dialogue among policymakers, practitioners, and researchers. Here you will find expert perspectives on timely and important policy topics, highlights of new research, and nontechnical commentary on key research methods—all focusing on enhancing understanding of the development and use of high quality evidence.

In the words of Ann Person, CIRE’s director, “We hope that the perspectives shared on our blog will contribute to both policies and programs that are more informed by evidence and research that is more relevant and accessible to decision makers.”
