About Myley

Myley Dang is a survey researcher with expertise in designing and administering surveys, providing technical assistance in data collection, and analyzing quantitative and qualitative data for education and family support projects.

Dang is the deputy project director for the Middle Grades Longitudinal Study of 2017, the first longitudinal study to follow a nationally representative sample of middle-grades students. In this role, she directs a team to develop and finalize survey instruments, oversee survey instrument testing, and help manage client relations on multiple survey instruments and assessments. Dang is also the survey director for the Partnership for Social and Emotional Learning Initiative, a project funded by the Wallace Foundation. She coordinates and manages the data collection administration of SELweb, an online social and emotional assessment, to 76 schools in six districts across the United States. She provides support in building and piloting a longitudinal data collection system for the National Science Foundation Research Experiences for Undergraduates program to track participants for employment and continued matriculation in science, technology, engineering, and math fields.

Dang, who joined Mathematica in 2015, has a Ph.D. in education from the University of California, Santa Barbara. She is a member of the American Educational Research Association and has published in Teachers College Record.
